are from U.S. However, this year we will see designers from Europe, Asia and Australia.
"Fashion Week has become this massive, massive thing, and it's outgrown its traditional boundaries," Eric Wilson, fashion news director at InStyle magazine, was quoted as saying. "It's a question of how it's going to manage its growth at this point."

Elie Saab
By looking at the designs itself, you can tell right away –
this is a creation of Elie Saab. Embroidered bodice, gems and draping became
some kind of signature of Elie Saab.
Every designer has his story, his own way to success. The
life story of this designer is not less impressive.
Elie Saab was born in Beirut, Lebanon in July 4, 1964. The
most interesting thing is that he started to make dresses at 9 years old. His first
dress he made for his sister. At the age of 18 his first couture atelier was
opened in Beirut. At first, Saab specialized at making wedding dresses which
were well-known for their rich fabrics, lace, detailed embroidery, pearls,
crystals and silk threads.
These unique designs became famous abroad, and in 1997 Saab
was the first non-Italian designer to become a member of the Italian Camera
Nazionale della Moda. In 1997, he showed his first collection outside Lebanon
in Rome.
In May 2003, the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture
invited him to become a member. It is an incredible opportunity for him to be
able to present his designs on the runway of the Paris Fashion Week. Now, he is
presenting four collections per year (haute couture and ready to wear).
Also, here are some facts about Elie Saab that you might didn’t know before.
- 1. He didn’t study fashion at any school.
- 2. His main source of inspiration is still Beirut.
- 3. Elie Saab sells more than 1000 dresses per year. This is the biggest number among all designers (before Valentino was holding the first position).
- 4. All of his dresses are handmade. Each of them requires 120 hours of work and six people.
- 5. He has only four shops worldwide: London, Paris, Beirut and Dubai.
- 6. Elie Saab made dresses for 11 royalties.
- 7. Halle Berry was wearing his dress when she received her Oscar for Best Actress in 2002
Moreover, at the last episode of Gossip Girl Season 6, Blair Waldorf was wearing Elie Saab dress for her wearing which was incredibly beautiful.
