Cara Delevigne

Out of all top models, who is the youngest and one of the most successful? Obviously, Cara Delevigne! This model at her 21 reached the top of popularity among her fans. Fashion designers adore her. During couple years her career became ridiculously successful. Chanel, Burberry, Oscar De Larenta, H&M, Dolce & Gabbana, Fendi, Stella McCartney, Victoria’s Secret… This is not a full list of the achievements of this young lady. Why designers and photographers are so down to work with her? I would say that is because of her attitude and unique personality. She is not a model who would walk on the runway with a straight face with lack of emotions. Cara shows her personality and does not afraid to be herself: whenever it is a photo studio or runway.

Recently Cara became “Channel bride” by presenting the last outfit of the Spring/Summer collection at the Paris Fashion Week. We get used to see her more in baggy pants, but in this outfit she looked elegant and flawless.

However, Cara will not stop on modeling. Apart from that she is breaking into acting. Fashion magazines, particularly British Vogue, produced short promo videos, but her first actual filming experience was a small part in the 2012 film adaptation of Tolstoy's Anna Karenina.

Her close friends characterize her like an extreme girl who works a 24-hour day, and then party all night. “It takes a toll and she's struggling to figure out how to juggle it. She's got some big choices to make. Of course she has tearful days - it's natural."

Giorgio Armani | Haute Couture | Spring/Summer 2014 | Paris Fashion Week

The second day of the Paris Fashion week ended with Giorgio Armani new Spring/Summer collection.

I think that nowadays women in our society are more independent. They are warriors in the modern concrete jungles who are taking over their own destiny and fighting for the future they want. Of course, that Armani spirit has men’s wear roots, which have impacted the designer’s women’s aesthetic from the start.

"This is a woman who moves around the world and picks ideas from the beautiful things she sees, what moves her emotionally: the color of a skirt, jewelry that can be ethnic or not," Armani said during a preview. He described the collection as a "mélange of things — not typically Indian or African or European. "She moves with an Armani spirit in her head."

Giorgio Armani always varied the line and details to make each dress unique — just as couture should be.

Dior | Haute Couture | Spring/Summer 2014

This is the second year Raf Simons is a creative director at Christian Dior.

The new breathtaking collection showed how the silhouettes of the past can look fresh all over again. Designs that Christian Dior launched in 1950s were introduced again on the runway.

The attention of the Spring/Summer 2014 collection is about

really loose look, sack dresses and gathered cape

back, the silhouettes were mainly A-line and the

color palette primarily consists of navy, ivory and some sugar

almond pastels.

A lot of designers believe that couture should feel modern nowadays— without sacrificing the craft and quality essential to the genre. Raf Simons by this collection showed himself as true modernist. And he is a true modernist in the heart! Christian Dior collection in the program was described as “a blend of white angular modernism and biomorphism echoing the female form”.

The tone-on-tone graphics in white, black and navy looked lovely, and particularly fresh in white. Cases in point: the show opener, an asymmetric A-line affair that countered circles on top with horizontal pleats on the bottom; a strapless wisp of a dress done up with feathers and a half-hem flounce.

How did this spectacle known as Fashion Week come to be?

January and February means a lot for the fashion world. It is time for flashbulbs, madness and glamour – time of the “Big Four” Fashion Weeks!

The main shows are taking place in New York, London, Milan, and Paris. Journalists, photographers, editors and entire world are waiting for designers to unveil their collections.

But one little question arises…
How did this spectacle known as Fashion Week come to be?

This concept of special semi-annual show was born in salons of France. Charles Fredrick Worth as a rule showed his clients selection of new designs on real women. This move has shocked society and had been treated as innovation.

As a result, Worth helped to create a Chambre Syndicale de la Confection et de la Couture pour Dames et Fillettes in 1868. The goal of the organization was to develop French fashion industry and legally regulate the phrase “haute couture” – meaning it could only be used by registered members of the Chambre Syndicale.

Therefore, Paris Fashion Week became the first main event of an official fashion calendar.

In couple years, the fashion presentations became more grandiose and engaging in all senses and France secured its reputation as the fashion capital of the world.
